Obama and the Unclear Summit
I was watching an old TV program by Carl Sagan where he consulted the galactic computer about how worlds were created and destroyed. Sort of Grim but Carl was just that way. He checked out the Earth and found that we had destroyed ourselved with global thermo nuclear weapons. He was so concered with it that he missed the possibly greater threat of climate failure. This summit is to stop people who will do anything to get nuclear weapons like IRAN to stop doing it? So why do it? Getting china to side with us must have been a feat of magic or money, not sure which. How do you contain a country who is scared from within, from its young aggressive population and from without from other powers in the area? Does it make any sense? Why would they give up an advantage? They would have to be getting something much better. But what? Only time will tell.
Death threats over health care?
Is it possible that the same tactics used in terrorizing doctors to stop performing abortions are the same that are used on our elected officials against health care? What could possibly motivate a person not to want to provide healthcare that they are paying for anyway to their neighboors?

It’s morning again in America.
Today more men and women will be out of work than any time since the great depression.
Even with interest savings rates at record lows, families are paying more interest than ever on their credit cards.
Nearly 2000 families will loose their homes today more than anytime in the past four years.
This afternoon more than 6500 young men and women will have to put off marriage for deployments, job layoffs and lack of money to pay for the wedding.
Even with inflation less than half what it was just four years ago, food and housing are still the biggest items in people’s weekly budget.
It is morning again in America
and under the leadership of President Bush
our country is more poor, and more dispised and more of a target then ever,.
Why would we ever want to return to where we were
those four short years ago?
President Obama, you have your work cut out for you.

I am starting a campaign to replace the beautiful classic American celebration songs with ones that really reflect who we are. Ones that we actually know most of the words. When Garth Brooks got up at the Obama Inagural and sang SHOUT, he had the whole crowd dancing and singing. Isn’t that who we really are? And isnt America the Beautiful a nice song that we sing at formal celbrations but no other times. But put on YMCA at a ball game and the whole crowd goes crazy doing the arm movements.

Ben Franklin was right about the Turkey
I was just watching the Obama Inaugural Celebration at the Lincoln Memorial and it was as awful as those things get. The stars were stiff and the music was good for some and just horrible for others.
The lowest moment is when they trotted out these two poor bald eagles and made them spread their wings. The birds tried to fly away but couldn’t because they were tethered or something. How is it that our national bird is something to be displayed at special occasions and not something that is seen all the time. Wouldn’t it have been wonderful if they could have let the birds fly free to some warm southern destination. Now that is freedom.
I think I am on Ben Franklin’s side. He wanted the national bird to be the Turkey. I know it is majestic watching a bald eagle swoop down and grab a salmon out of a river. But isn’t the site of a well prepared turkey on a thanksgiving plate very American too?

I expect that we all will breath a sigh of relief, when our count down clocks are restared not to go to New Year but to the inauguration Day. Should we all sing Auld Lang Syne? May I suggest a version to sing, slightly modified for the occasion?

Despite his comments at the Alfred E. Smith Dinner that he is not the son of God but the son of Krypton, there is still no room at the Inn or in this case Blair House for the Obama family.
Ok so the Hay Adams is not exactly a stable but the message is clear. The Bush’s are saying: We are just not going to let you move in until our boxes are packed and ready to go to their cozy exlusive suburb in Texas. It is presidential white flight.
For all of us we are looking forward to that flight. The last golden moment when the sun sets on the Bush Dynasty and sanity and science return to the land.

Lipstick. We have all got it wrong! It is not McCain who is like Bush it is Palin. Palin is just a sort of pretty face with no real knowledge of political affairs, leads by emotion and loyalty instead of principle and there are a lot of people who would love to hang out with her and have that beer in the backyard. She gives a good speach, though not loaded with big words or complicated ideas, but a good speach. She has almost a Reganesque quality about her abilty to connect with the average person.
SHE IS BUSH.
I understand the plan now. The plan is to get McCain elected and then have a scandel hit him or have him retire for health reasons he is 72 or so now, and then have Pallin take over. They could tell her anything and she will just follow orders and give good speaches. The corporate run goverment would then have a non regulated paradise that would rob the economy of what is left of its delicate underpinnings.
I beleive most of her advisers are Bushies anyway so continuing down the same road with a different puppet is the plan. I have to say it is brilliant. No body really belived that McCain choose her after one meeting.
It totally makes sense. Why not choose a prominent woman as VP if just getting women were the goal to attract the Hillary supporters? It just doesn’t make sense unless there is a dark purpose to this.
I have seen PIT BULLS with more maternal instincts than Palin
Rhett Butler said to Scarlett O’Hara, that he had seen cats with more maternal instincts than her. I feel that way about the VP choice of Sahah Palin. She was pregnant as governor had a child with Downs Syndrome and thought she had enough bandwidth to be VP. Not to mention the pregnant daughter, who obviously didn’t get the memo on ABSTINACE FIRST. Nor did she get the Condom message.
I have a relative with a Downs Syndrome child and it is all they can do to keep him going to physical therapy and working with him in sign language. I just don’t understand how it is possible to mange all of it.
I don’t understand how anyone could hold on to the job they have let alone take another. It’s not like the eldest daughter will be able to help. Instead of going off to college she will be in lamaze class.
I don’t know about what others are thinking but there is something seriously wrong with this picture. Right now it is just an inkling. But I am very suspicious. I dont’ beleive her balancing act is possible.
The truth about Obama: flexibility is a good thing
I guess that it worked on John Kerry and the body armor bill that he voted for and then against and then for or whatever. Now the Republicidiots are trying to tell the American public again that Obama is flip flopping on Iraq. Please this is rediculous. It is not like he was for the war in IRAQ and now is against it. But even then, he should change his mind as events warrent it. How can we have a president who does not understand the differene beteween shifting who you are, which is what people are afraid of, and changing a belief on a particular issue.
I want my President to think and change his mind and follow his gut, as long as it does not lead us into another stupid war.
